   What is Meta Tags and Meta Tag List.?

Meta tags are HTML or XHTML <meta> element which is used for instructions and detailed information about a web page. Meta tag is an element so it stays same but used different attributes for different instructions and information.

Meta tags are made just for the crawlers (search engine bots), to tell them that what is this page is about. These tags are not used for users, because it is used in the <head> section before the <body> section starts, it won’t be visible to user except that it can also be used to emulate the use of the HTTP response header.


If we take example of an online tv show and movie website then it's meta tags would look like the one given below :

Many people nowadays say that meta tags are not important for a website and rest says that it is important and I don’t want to get in this discussion. The only thing that I know is that if I use them well, they will not harm my website or its reputation, so why not just use it but the main problems is that one don't know how to create meta tags and to use them on their website accordingly.
